Title: The Democratization of Georegistration: Making AI Better, Faster, and More Accurate

In this lightning talk, Mr. Brower addresses the dirty little secret underlying artificial intelligence (AI): if the data feeding the AI algorithms isn’t properly aligned, the power of AI is greatly diminished. Yet, georegistration of image sources and data can be time consuming, costly, and out of reach, especially for mission-focused organizations and emergency responders. Mr. Brower will address the role of data accuracy and its importance in supporting and accelerating the use of AI. He’ll show how the use of georegistration processes that are more open and less costly can be used “upstream” to support the use of AI algorithms “downstream.” He’ll demonstrate how the democratization of georegistration technology—making it affordable and accessible—supported the fight against wild fires last summer and discuss the broader impact for mission-critical analysis and quick decision making.
