3D Tiles is an Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) community standard for efficiently streaming and rendering the massive 3D geospatial datasets todays sensors are producing.
Through collaboration with the OGC, The Khronos Group (an open, nonprofit consortium developing interoperability standards for 3D graphics, AR/VR, and machine learning), DOD organizations like US Army One World Terrain and USSOCOM, and industry partners like Maxar and Epic Games, Cesium is evolving the 3D Tiles standard to support game-like interactivity over massive 3D geospatial datasets. Were calling the next evolution of the standard 3D Tiles Next.
GEOINT 2022 attendees who want to know more about how foundational datasets built on 3D Tiles Next, like US Army One World Terrain, can be used for advanced visualization and analysis will find this lightning talk particularly useful. This lightning talk will cover three areas where 3D Tiles Next is providing the next level of 3D geospatial performance: Building simulations that scale, Metadata for game-like interactivity, and Leveraging gITF for performance.
